POSITION SUMMARY
Medgene Labs seeks a R&D Support Associate to perform support activities for Research and Development.
JOB DUTIES
The R&D Support Associate is responsible for ensuring reliable and accurate support in the preparation of materials and reagents, as well as providing assistance to scientists, as required, for Research and Development. Knowledge of basic laboratory procedures and aseptic techniques is preferred. The position requires the ability to read and understand standard operating procedures and be able to execute and document the procedures to ensure compliance with government regulations.
- Able to follow detailed instructions, scientific protocols, and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Prepare and sterilize media, buffers, and reagents.
- Usage of delicate scales for precise measurements
- Operation of pumps and filtration devices for sterilization
- Basic chemistry for pH adjustments
- Wash, prepare, and sterilize laboratory glassware, carboys, tubing, connectors, etc.
- Autoclave operation will be the primary function for sterilization.
- General organization, cleaning and upkeep of laboratories and laboratory equipment.
- Monitor and record equipment data, such as temperatures.
- Maintain and monitor inventories of supplies and materials.
- Maintain complete, concurrent, and accurate documentation, as required.
- Properly handle, identify, sort, prepare, and dispose of biohazard materials and hazardous chemicals.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, using proper safety equipment and procedures.
- Assist scientists in assay/samples preparation, including aliquoting of reagents, labeling, etc.
- Data Entry, Filing and Scanning.
- Other tasks as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of:
- Good Documentation Practices.
- Operation of basic laboratory equipment.
- Experience with an autoclave is preferred but not required.
- Aseptic technique knowledge is preferred but not required.
- Ability to:
- Effectively clean and sanitize laboratory equipment.
- Follow specific procedures.
- Work safely with infectious materials and specimens.
- Operate scientific equipment and computers.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Plan and Coordinate with multiple teams under limited supervision.
- Keep detailed and accurate documentation.
- Maintain a safe work environment for self and other employees at all times
